AX 2008

This is for the anime expo contest. Since I'm going to the anime expo anyway, why not give it a try. So I decided to enter. Well guess I'm not a good poster designer, but I've done my best. So hope you guys like it.

I designed the poster based on AX is a japanese anime show, so the characters and colors are all in the japanese anime style.
Then I work on the deviant art part. For me deviant art is filled with energy. So I have the Fella in a motion type of gesture.
Because deviant art is a place for artists to communicate, the pen represent the art part. Then I guess since everyday artists upload their art works, this place "Deviant Art" will always be "under construction" with new works. This place will never be "done", so I left one of Fella's foot half colored.
For the background, since the event is in summer. I choose the warm colors for the background so people can have a summer feeling~~~

That's my ideas to get this poster.

It took me about 10~11hours to finish.
I used the pen tool to make the outline crisp and clear. This part took me a lot of times...that's why it took me so long...
